I’m a Sucker
Ugh, it’s that time of the year again when everyone comes around with fundraisers for their kids. At my last job, I was blessed to work with a department practically devoid of parents, so I never learned the survival skills necessary to duck and weave my way out of these fundraiser traps. Thus, I had no excuses prepared when I was approached to buy a tub of cookie dough for $12. What am I going to do with a tub of cookie dough?! I mean, I live over a freaking supermarket!
Everyone else countered with the “Ohhhh, my son/daughter/niece/whatever always has [insert fundraiser] and that’s what I give to,” but I couldn’t think of anything. Maybe I should have said that I give to Sydney’s… something. I’m going to start rehearsing so I am ready for this next year. In the meantime, at some point I am going to have to lug a brick of dough home on the bus =(.
